Digital Distribution
A Little Background
Big Rig Records was established in 1999 by friends Stephen Wake (Adelaide) and Nick Conolly (Melbourne). Over the next 7-8 years the label intermittently released albums by the following bands:
These albums were released in CD format and distributed in Australia via MGM Distribution. After ten years of sporadic CD releases we’ve decided to move to a 100% digital format.
And Now
We’ve partnered up with US based digital music supplier IODA who have agreements with over 300 online and mobile providers such as iTunes, Amazon, Audio Lunchbox, emusic, Destra, LastFM, Napster, Puretracks, Strabucks, T-Online and Verizon just to name a few…
We are looking for independent/unsigned bands and artists who want to make their music available in the digital format. If you would like us to consider your music, either send us an email via our contact page, or get in touch with us via myspace with a link to your online mp3′s.
We are offering artists the choice of 2 agreements, one royalty based where Big Rig gets a percentage of sales income (for those not sure how many digital sales they might achieve) and one fee based with a 14 month royalty free period (for artists who feel that their release will sell like hotcakes and want to get the maximum possible returns).
