Spider+Octopus is a folk duet of two individual artists: Renee Arozqueta and Chad Bishop, with distinct talents among them.
-IST is an album in two parts: -IST I and -IST II, each part consists of 11 tracks. Recorded in Tennessee (Dec 2009 – March 2010) during the winter months. In the Appalachian Mountains, and the smoggy city of Knoxville.
-IST is an abbreviated descriptive for the landscapes the album ventures through, cold mountain paths and snowy crags. -IST is also shorthand for the methods of rendering sounds on the album from minimalist to existentialist.
Renee Arozqueta and Chad Bishop stretched out for some winter months, hiking through different parts of Southern Appalachia uncovering remote parts of the psyche and surfacing with them to create the album -IST…
